Why You'll Love Troop 1313

THE ACTION: Opportunities for fun & adventure throughout the year.

ADVANCEMENT: Our Scoutmasters and older Scouts provide guidance to newer Scouts on rank advancement and merit badge attainment. Our programming includes meeting nights and campouts geared toward completing merit badges. A number of our Scouts achieve Eagle.

FLEXIBILITY & CONVENIENCE: Because many Scouts balance sports, activities and academics, our flexible program accommodates active youth, allowing them to progress at their own pace. Meetings and many activities conveniently located in Reston.

INDIVIDUAL GROWTH: There are a range of leadership and growth opportunities for Scouts to lean into—something for everyone.

COMMUNITY: Scouts joining our Troop become more than members of a group—they become part of a community. We work together, help each other grow, and have a lot of fun along the way. The life-long friendships built in T1313 extend beyond Scout meetings and campouts, making the transition to middle school and/or high school easier.

Those New to Scouting

You don't need to have been a Cub Scout to join Troop 1313! Youth can join Scouts BSA beginning around age 10–11 (typically 5th or 6th grade) and can participate through age 17.

If you're new to Scouting, we encourage you to come visit a troop meeting to meet our Scouts and leaders, see what our troop is like, and learn more about joining. No previous Scouting experience is necessary!

When you are ready to join, you can sign up through this link on the Scouting America Website. It should say our troop name on the top left-hand side to indicate you will be joining Troop 1313.

AOL Cub Scouts Bridging Over

Please let us know if you are interested in bridging to our troop. Typically, your AOL Den Leader will initiate a transfer through the my.scouting.org website right around the time of, or just after, your bridging ceremony to Scouts. If your Den Leader has questions, we can connect with them to work through this process. There is also a way to self-initiate the transfer, and we can also help with the process as well.

We welcome interested prospective scouts to join us for a meeting or activity.
